Approaching a professional of any kind can be quite daunting especially if you are used to having all the answers or are currently in place where everything around you feels wrong and unsure. The reasons for approaching a Coach will vary from client to client – from the completely focused to those who just do not know where to start. By helping you to work out what’s really important to you and whether it’s your head or your heart that prevents you from achieving the very thing you are in pursuit of, the sessions will support the changes that you need to make to achieve your purpose.
So firstly about the name...AmrikBetty is a nickname given to me by a very dear friend and partially an endearment (also given to me by the same friend). When I was trying to decide on the name, I had decided early on that I would not be using my name (‘Amritdeep Sandher’ afterall is a bit of a mouthful) or a ‘coaching’ name but one that would make me smile when I heard it or remind me of good times, friendships, moments of inspiration, hope, personal growth and the strength of values.
Working with adults and young people in transition across a range of topics including health, nutrition, education, career, personal/professional transitions and work/life balance, I believe that the choices that you make will either lead you to those who inspire you or those who teach you what type of person you prefer to be - each choice, like stepping stones, will take you closer to where you want to be, it just sometimes takes a little courage and support to step out of our own way to make the change when the opportunity presents itself.
With 20 years experience in various roles/sectors including retail, financial services, construction and media (corporate, network and production), my end goal has always been to work in an environment that would allow me to meet many different people and to continue learning whether that be through personal development or on the job. Along the way I also discovered that I had a natural flair for listening without judgement and encouraging those around me to learn and develop with every experience.
